My journey into psychotherapy is rooted in the deep commitment to fostering positive change cultivated over decades in the school system and diverse educational settings. Working closely with families as an educator and later as a homeschool facilitator, I acquired an acute awareness of the unique challenges inherent in family dynamics and relationship structures, as well as the specific needs faced by teenagers and young adults striving to integrate into modern society. With my training in therapy, I am well-equipped to assist families in creating optimal environments for child development while navigating complex interpersonal relationships.
Drawing upon my personal experiences as an immigrant, I harbour deep empathy for refugees and new immigrants. As a bilingual English-Russian counsellor, I extensively engage with Russian-speaking clients from the post-Soviet space. Having witnessed the transformative power of counselling for individuals grappling with traumatic stress, depression and anxiety, I aim to provide a compassionate and supportive space. I support my clients’ journey toward healing, resilience, and successful integration employing a holistic somatic approach that builds up on personal strengths while actively supporting the development of accommodations in areas of need.
Dive with me into the intricate world of psychology and its profound impact on our behaviours, decisions, and overall well-being. We will learn to maximize your strength while providing accommodations for the areas of need. We will explore the dance of interpersonal communication to find the best steps. We will consider your emotions as a compass to navigate through your relationships. We will explore your past and present and discuss your options for the future.

(She/Her/Hers)
Hi, I’m Liza (she/her). Over the past several years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting individuals and families through my work in the non-profit sector and in private practice. These experiences shaped my commitment to providing therapy that is accessible, culturally sensitive, and grounded in compassion. My clinical work includes supporting youth, adults, couples, families, neurodivergent clients, and newcomers adjusting to life in Canada. I have a particular interest in trauma-focused work and in helping clients make sense of experiences that have felt overwhelming or difficult to carry alone.
My approach integrates evidence-based, trauma-informed modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), EMDR Therapy, Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and other relational and somatic techniques.
In our work together, my goal is to help you get to know your inner world with more clarity and kindness, strengthen what’s already working, and uncover new ways of coping and connecting that feel aligned with who you are. Whether you are navigating a transition, healing from trauma, or working to build healthier relationships, you don’t have to do it alone, we can move through it together.

I strive to create a trusting and empathetic environment guided by compassion and curiosity towards one’s human experience. Through thoughtful exploration, genuine care, and non-judgment, together we work together to discover and learn all aspects of your lived experiences, identifying obstacles and belief systems holding you back from meeting your goals, moving towards change, and reaching your most authentic self. As a former educator, actor and creative writer, I bring a deep sensitivity to the work as a supportive therapist, offering perspectives, and intuitively tapping into client strengths and abilities, helping clients uncover, or re-discover their inherent worth. As a child of immigrant parents, I am particularly attuned to the struggles that come with adapting to new cultures, displacement and belonging. Working within the school system, and privately with clients in mental health settings, I have gained experience and insight into familiar presenting concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, life transitions, school-related issues, and relationship challenges. My goal is to help cultivate and nurture awareness of self, and help you understand how childhood, society and culture shapes experiences. Together, we will strive to help strengthen your internal resources, access support systems, and look and move towards the future with hope and resilience.
What Clients Can Expect: In our initial session together, we will begin to establish safety and trust. I will hear your story, what brings you to therapy and what your hopes are for the future. It may require a gathering of history and acknowledging what presenting concerns may be holding you back from life satisfaction. We will set goals and find therapeutic modalities that will best suit your needs. Clients often describe sessions as encouraging, supportive, warm and welcoming, instilled with hope and possibility.
Approach to Therapy: My approach to therapy depends on the needs and goals of each client. The approach is collaborative and supportive. I may use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Narrative or use a humanistic or psychodynamic therapeutic approach. We will co-create a treatment plan, and consistently monitor progress to see what needs to be modified.
Specialties: Anxiety, depression, self-esteem and confidence building, life transitions, goal setting and motivation, bereavement ,chronic illness, stress management, PTSD/Trauma, academic and school issues, work-life balance, and relationship issues.

(She/Her/Hers)
Hello, I’m Sadia. My path to counselling has been shaped by over 15 years of experience in healthcare, where I had the privilege of supporting individuals through rehabilitation, hospital care, and community services. These experiences inspired me to pursue a Master of Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University and deepen my commitment to helping adults improve their emotional well-being and quality of life.
I believe that every person has unique strengths and inner resources. My role is to provide a safe, compassionate, and collaborative space where you can explore life’s challenges, gain greater self-awareness, and work toward meaningful, lasting change. My approach is client-centred, evidence-informed, and grounded in empathy, active listening, and respect for your individual experiences.
Before entering the counselling field, I worked in a variety of healthcare settings, including Michael Garron Hospital, Sunnybrook Hospital, and rehabilitation services. These roles strengthened my ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds, collaborate within multidisciplinary teams, and provide care with compassion and professionalism. I have also volunteered as a community interpreter, helping individuals navigate healthcare and social services while reducing language and cultural barriers.
I provide counselling in English, Urdu, Hindi, and Punjabi, allowing clients to communicate in the language they feel most comfortable using. Whether you’re navigating stress, anxiety, life transitions, relationship concerns, or simply looking for a supportive space to grow, I look forward to working alongside you on your journey.
